Out and about in Denver

On the first snowy day of this winter I went back to some of the photos I took last summer around Denver. On flickr.

In the Athens metro, outside the airport.

Monasthraki, part of the old town in Athens.

Monasthraki at night, below the Acropolis.

The beach of Dyskos in Crete. One of my favorites; it hasn't changed much in the last decade.

In the canyon of the Saints, in Crete, outside a little church.

Late August I took a trip to Greece to visit family and friends. Here are some photos of my home town, Iraklio, in Crete.

The main cathedral of Agios Minas.

The fishermen's section of the old Venitian port.

Kiva crop

Many people said they liked the photo from inside the kive. Here is another crop of it that I actually like better. (Thanks to Jao, the annoying white border is now gone!)

Bandelier National Monument, New Mexico

We took a trip to Santa Fe recently and did a day trip to Bandelier National Monument. Very interesting cliff dwellings in a beautiful setting.

A view of Tyuonyi from the upper dwellings. This is what is left of buildings that used to be two stories high.

A kiva up at the Alcove house.

Inside the kiva.

Blooming desert

Some more photos from that trip to Moab. A lingering injury took me off the bike for this trip, so I hiked many places I have always intended to but never did. Also, the timing of the trip was perfect, as it seemed everything was blooming!

Negro Bill canyon.

And a nice surprise: a hummingbird nesting. I should thank the guy who pointed the nest out to me.

An unusual (or not?) image from Arches National Park.
