Australian Critters

Big hug

Of course no trip to Australia is complete without an encounter with a kangaroo and a koala. For lack of time, my own encounter was in an enclosed environment at the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary in Brisbane. See all of those and more here.

The Great Barrier Reef

Last Saturday I took a trip to the Great Barrier Reef. Unfortunately, beginner divers, such as myself, were not allowed to carry cameras underwater. Anyhow, it was one of the coolest things I have ever seen. Let's hope it stays that way.

Sunday I went for a short trip to the Green Island. Some more images are here.

Cairns, Australia

Low tide marshlands.

I was up at 4 am, strolling by what was the seaside last night. Some early risers were out for breakfast already.

37,000 ft over the Pacific

The sun rises over the Pacific Ocean.

The 15 hour trip was not too bad, except from the occasional speed bumps. Those who know me and my motion sickness know what I mean.

A face on the moon.

Shot last night at the Government Center area in Boston. Handheld, at 1/20 sec. You have to love the Image Stabilizer.
